(Nemesis Aeterna)

Ad Arma MagazineWrong! This is no Black Metal as the band name and spacey cover art could suggest, but one kind of Death Metal, split in two parts: half of music is deeply rooted in early nineties Floridian themes, another part is more progressive & melodic – European school, if you want. Still it is fast and direct music, with certain Thrash and very tiny Black Metal influence, but if they slow down once in a while, temper tends to turn depressive rather than “nice”, so there is nothing to worry about any trendy melodic mediocrity to pop in. Still, Spanish musicians have slight troubles to glue their ideas into one whole basis. In my opinion, some rhythmic changes do not work here and there. Well, Brutality must be a truly perfect example of how to make such or similar music work – tight, catchy and dramatic, maintaining the dark and heavy aspect of creation. Nemesis Aeterna also sound heavy enough, keeping in mind numerous harmonies they bravely use in these songs, but they lack a little extra to add to heaviness.
Complexity of tunes deserve more music of them to really get into and realize whether these dudes are able to blow half of the Metal world away, or remain just pretenders to the elite, so perhaps next thing they release will answer [some of] these questions. Still I suggest following the line of Land of Genesis, as it sounds more convincing than the other track of seven inch.
