REDOX is a heavy / thrash metal band with its own strong personal style. Its beginning could be dated back to 1990 though its first steps into music began even sooner. Former members were :
Toni Sáez...................Bass guitar and lead vocals
Sergi Argüelles.............Guitar
José L. Cuñarro.............Guitar
Enric “Kike” Barrés.........Drums
They recorded a small demo tape including the song
“Slave of life” that later on was included in the first
REDOX´s official demo
“Hidden strength”, recorded in july ´92 at Subsonic Studios (L´Hospitalet de Llobregat / Barcelona). The demo also contained three more tracks :
“No souls name”, “One silliness”, and “The beginning of the end”.
Playing as a quartet, they performed a bunch of shows in which they got experience, self confidence and improved their composition and playing skills as well.
In 1994, guitarist
J.L. Cuñarro left the band, so
REDOX became a trio. For the next year and while being a trio, REDOX recorded its second demo tape
“After Childhood”, recorded again at Subsonic Studios during july ´95 and the band performed several live shows.
Finally, in december ´95, former
PURGATORY´s guitarist
Toni Vives joined the band helping
REDOX to reach its own personal style and making the live sound much more impressive.
Being a quartet again,
REDOX kept on working until the beginning of 1998, when
Toni Vives was replaced by former
HERESY´s and
AXTER´s guitarist
Ricard Flores. Since then the band has increased its activity performing several live shows all over Catalunya and taking part in an Iron Maiden Tribute CD with the recording of the song “Futureal” (May ´99). Thjs CD was sponsored by “Col-lectiu Ilerrock” and Sonograma Studios. In addition,
REDOX has published recently its first official CD
“Forgotten Nature” (recorded in september ´99 again at Subsonic Studios) with an excellent presentation and sound, reaching the level of big international productions. This CD was published by
VOLIAC ROCK PRODUCCIONS in january ´99.
